High-performance versions of the NetSight II machine vision systems have been released by ipd, a Dalsa Coreco group. The M systems are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-GHz processor with 2 MB of local cache and 512 MB of high-speed program memory. They are form-and-fit compatible with their predecessors but deliver up to three times the overall performance. They also are compatible with standard analog and Camera Link interfaces as well as with IEEE-1394 and GigE Ethernet. Users have a choice of software. The systems are supported by the company’s Sherlock vision software and are supplied with a library of C++ functions to access the individual hardware components.
