A fiber stripper designed to remove polyimide and other coatings without the use of hot acid has been released by FiberLogix Ltd. The All-Strip accommodates a variety of fiber sizes up to 1 mm in thickness for window or end stripping. The technology offers an environmentally friendly and chemical-free process to remove coatings, including carbon, metal and silicone resin, from fibers with diameters of 250, 500 and 1000 μm and with lengths from a few to 75 mm. The machine can be used as a stand-alone unit or integrated into subsystems. It operates on a 12-V battery for field operations.
