The model 7500 eyesafe laser rangefinder receiver/counter features exceptional sensitivity, resolution and multiple-target response. A programmable digital signal processing counter can be optimized for each application.

The receiver and processor are combined, allowing digital control of range resolution, minimum and maximum range, time-programmed gain, optimum avalanche photo didoe (APD) bias for background light, etc.

The interface is a high-speed parallel communication link to reduce latency. The model 7500 provides a maximum sensitivity of 5 nW at 1550 nm (50% detection; 6 ns pulse; 0.1% FAR;  TEC set for 15 °C) and a 5-m typical multiple target resolution. The time programmed gain is programmable in 32 steps with a 31-dB voltage range. Minimum step time is 20 ns. Maximum counter resolution is 1.5 cm.

The model 7500 is powered by -5V at 350 mA and +5 V at 750 mA (1 A at maximum cooling). A high-voltage APD bias supply and TEC controller are also incorporated into the unit. Dimensions are 4.97 x 2.06 x 0.85 in., and the unit weighs 2.83 oz including heatsink.
