The MS-2000 low mass X-Y stage from Applied Scientific Instrumentation Inc. retains the precision of the company’s regular stage while providing increased thermal response time with three-fourths of the mass. It measures 200 × 200 mm and has a thickness of 26 mm. Specifications include 100 × 100 mm of X-Y travel, delivering a resolution of 100 nm and repeatability of 800 nm rms when controlled with the company’s closed-loop DC servo motor electronics. Optional linear encoders offer resolution down to 20 nm with repeatability of 300 nm rms. The unit can be supplied with stepper motors. Designed to fit most upright microscopes, it also is suitable for stand-alone and OEM applications.
