STIRLING, Scotland, April 27, 2007 -- Laser-based instrumentation company Cascade Technologies Ltd. has announced the release of a new generation of compact, affordable high-performance laser systems and quantum cascade (QC) laser sources.

CascadeLaserLS03D.jpgThe company, which develops high-speed multigas analyzers based on the integration of mid-infrared QC lasers, introduced their new high performance/low cost system alongside a series of QC lasers with wavelengths spanning from 4 µm to over 10 µm. The laser system sells for less than £10,000 ($20,000) and includes laser head, electronics control module, software and a quantum cascade laser.

Cascade Technologies has also introduced the AV1500, a £2500 ($5000), 1.5 G sample/s digitizer/averager card with Plug & Play connectivity. The AV1500 can digitize one channel with 8-bit precision across voltage ranges spanning from ±10 mV to ±1.5 V. The card is also capable of sampling 650 MHz bandwidth signals and via onboard FPGA averaging, the ability to coadd data up to 65,000 times 2000 points, effectively provides 16-bit resolution.

CascadeDigitizer.jpgThe new Cascade AV1500 is a high performance digitizer/averager aimed at satisfying high-speed signal capture and averaging requirements in various fields of scientific and commercial research and development, as well as manufacturing test applications. Windows-based control software comes standard.
