Flir Systems Inc. has released the ThermoVision SC8000 medium-wavelength infrared (MWIR) camera, which generates more than 1 million pixels in high-resolution quality for one thermal image. It incorporates an InSb focal plane array for true megapixel image resolution without dithering or stitching. Its 16-channel readout provides digital data at 205 megapixels per second. This functionality offers multiple triggering modes, integration times and window sizes. The system produces full-window 1024 × 1024-pixel 14-bit data at 132 fps. By reducing the window size, it operates at 309 fps at 640 × 512, 751 fps at 320 × 256 and 909 fps at 160 × 120. The output frame rate is adjustable from .0015 Hz to full frame. Compatible with the company’s ThermaCam RTools software, it features multiple presets and Gigabit Ethernet, Camera Link Full and USB interfaces.
