OneLight Corp. has unveiled the OneLight Spectra spectrally programmable digital light engine, providing software control of the spectrum, intensity and timing of the light source. The device consists of a light source and spectral tuning optics that function as a unit under software control. It can create spectral profiles for hyperspectral, fluorescence or principal-component imaging, or for medical photonic devices that employ spectroscopy, microscopy or endoscopy. It offers increased dynamic range of measurement and measurement sensitivity, and it eliminates the need for filters, shutters and repeated calibrations. It employs a xenon lamp, which is suitable for multispectral imaging and many in vivo applications.
