Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing has introduced the XMC-442, a Xilinx Virtex-5 field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based express mezzanine card module compute engine. The device simplifies the development and integration of custom FPGA calculation blocks into embedded platforms. The company’s Continuum FXtools developer’s kit provides support for the software driver and for Internet protocol development that eliminates the necessity of writing a time-intensive interface code. Designed for signal- and image-processing applications, it is suitable for radar, sonar and signal intelligence applications.
