The 56-CLC series universal laser controller introduced by CVI Melles Griot operates the company’s CRH series diode laser modules at 408, 442, 642 and 658 nm, and it operates diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers at wavelengths such as 488 and 561 nm. The design uses drive electronics with a common software interface and 5-VDC power input, reducing system complexity and cost. The same model power supply can be used to operate multiple interchangeable laser diodes or DPSS laser heads. OEM controller board and CDRH enclosure versions are offered. Features of the RoHS-compliant devices include analog and digital modulation (diode lasers only), operating temperature from 0 to 55 °C, dual thermoelectric cooling controllers, an RS-232 interface and versatile mounting options. They operate in automatic current control or in automatic power control mode and are suitable for use in applications such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, metrology and general laboratory use.
