GRÜSCH, Switzerland, April 1, 2008 -- Trumpf Laser Marking Systems AG has introduced the TruMark 6020, a marking laser that completes the TruMark 6000 series of diode-pumped marking lasers of various performance classes, wavelengths, and active laser media.

Newly developed components have increased the output of the TruMark 6020 Nd:YAG laser by more than 50 percent compared to the previous model, the VMc3 (VectorMark compact 3), Trumpf said. The greater efficiency, along with unchanged diffraction-limited beam quality, shortens the process times of marking and increases productivity.

The TruMark 6020 is particularly well suited to mark metal or plastic components for use in the automotive and aviation industries and in medical technology, the company said. The legal requirements for the traceability of products are high in these areas in particular. The TruMark 6020 also guarantees process dependability for the reading of barcodes and data matrix codes.

The other marking lasers in the TruMark 6000 series that have been available since last year feature significant increases in performance over the VMc models for infrared, green and ultraviolet (UV) wavelength ranges to provide the user with a laser suitable for any marking requirement. The TruMark 6130 Nd:YVO4 laser emits infrared light at 1064 nm; the TruMark 6230 with green light (532 nm) and the TruMark 6330 with UV light (355 nm) are available specifically for processing plastics and semiconductor materials.

"With the TruMark 6020, we have completed the 6000 series. Already the first three vanadate laser types with wavelength ranges of 1064, 532 and 355 nm were broadly accepted by users. Now we can offer customers the TruMark 6020, a marking laser that significantly exceeds the performance of the predecessor VMc3," said Eckhard Meiners, PhD, managing director of Trumpf Laser Marking Systems.

The company is introducing the TruMark 6020 this week at the Industrie 2008 trade show in Paris (B130, Hall 5A).
