Calcium indicator

BioPhotonics
Jun 2008
AnaSpecRequest Info

Anaspec.jpgThe Fluo-3 high-affinity fluorescent calcium indicator, available from AnaSpec Inc., absorbs at approximately 506 nm and emits at 526 nm when bound to calcium. Its higher dissociation constant and longer excitation wavelength provide reduced interference with sample autofluorescence, and in the absence of calcium, it is practically nonfluorescent. It demonstrates efficient excitation with laser-based instrumentation, including confocal scanning microscopes, and it is used for flow cytometry and an imaging method of intracellular calcium flux associated with G protein-coupled receptor dynamics.
