JERUSALEM, Dec. 30, 2008 – Ophir Optronics Ltd.’s CO2 Optics Group has released the Clear Magic ultralow absorption lens as a complement to its Black Magic lens known for its high durability and long life expectancy, according to the company.

Ophir-ClearMagic.jpgThe Clear Magic lens offers the same characteristics of its counterpart, but also provides coating transparent to visible light. It uses the same top layer as the Black Magic to deliver scratch resistance and cleaning properties.

The transparent coating allows HeNe beams to be seen on the work piece while the polarizing filters help it to detect thermally-induced stress. It is available in 1.5- and 2-in. diameters for many OEM systems.

It is compatible with most plasma detection systems applications.

An optical lens manufactured to control the transmission of light over a specified wavelength range. Low absorption lenses are produced which are anti-reflection coated for UV, VIS and IR wavelengths by application of a multilayer dielectric coating to the lens surface.
