QUEBEC CITY, Dec. 11, 2009 – The Flash handheld power meters manufactured by Gentec Electro-Optics Inc. have a response time that the company says is at least two times shorter than that of most of the competition. They allow the user to take more measurements in less time, and their low noise level enables accurate measurement of powers as low as 2 W.
Features include fully customizable calibration, a rugged all-metal body, a high damage threshold and an effective aperture of 55 mm. Operating temperature ranges from 10 to 40 °C. The meters are suitable for use in job shops and laser servicing.

They are available in two models. The Flash-500 delivers 500 W, and the Flash-3K delivers 3000 W. Noise equivalent powers are 0.1 W and 5 W, and response times are 5 to 6 s and 10 to 12 s, respectively. The large numerical digital display measures 40 × 20 mm.

The backlight has on/off and automatic off functions. The meters offer easy two-button and hands-free operation, and the clear indications directly on the devices eliminate the need for consulting the manual. Two LEDs, red and green, indicate device status. The meters are designed to be stable when placed flat on a table.
