ORLANDO, Fla., April 29, 2010 — LightPath Technologies’ athermalized f/1.3, 14.9-mm focal length long-wave infrared (LWIR) assembly for thermal imaging using 8 to 12 µm infrared signatures.

Designed as the primary optics for thermal imagers, they are suitable for a variety of applications, including homeland security, firefighting, predictive maintenance and driver’s vision enhancement systems in automobiles.

The system integrates the company’s Black Diamond molded chalcogenide infrared lenses. When combined with its optomechanical design, it provides athermalization for temperature stability from -40 to 85 °C.
