SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 10, 2010 — Coherent Inc. has increased its range of Cube FP fiber-pigtailed diode laser products with the addition of several new wavelengths and output power levels. With these additions, the lasers are now available at 405 nm with 50-mW output, 445 nm with 25 mW, 488 nm with 30 mW, 640 nm with 30 and 75 mW, and 660 nm with 75 mW. There are two design configurations available for each wavelength and power level; one produces an M2 <1.1 collimated output beam, while the second delivers output from a single-mode, polarization-preserving fiber on an FC/APC connection. All are compact, hands-free, diode laser-based systems that never require realignment and that deliver stable output power throughout their lifetimes, making them attractive replacements for HeNe and other free-space and fiber-coupled lasers. The lasers are well-suited for bioinstrumentation applications such as flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, medical imaging, high-throughput drug discovery and genomics. Their beam quality, flexible delivery options and guaranteed power stability over time simplify system integration and provide a maintenance-free source of high-quality laser power. The new models can be directly modulated at frequencies of up to 150 MHz digital and 350 kHz analog, deliver low noise of <0.2% rms from 20 Hz to 10 MHz, and have a small 100 × 40-mm mounting area. They offer both USB and RS-232 connectivity.
