PEABODY, Mass., July 21, 2010 — Pinpoint Laser Systems Inc. has unveiled the Proline alignment kit, a visual laser system for checking and measuring straightness, flatness, squareness, parallelism, leveling and many other tasks. It combines the features of a transit, an infinitely long straightedge and a laser alignment system in one compact and portable product. It performs precision laser alignment for production, maintenance and plant engineering projects, both large and small.
The laser produces a crisp collimated reference beam that forms a bull’s-eye pattern for easy visual alignment and precise measuring. It is enclosed within a precision machined housing, ensuring that the laser reference beam is parallel to the side and base surfaces within 0.003°, or <0.030 in. at 50 ft. This level of accuracy is suited for setting straight machinery runs, aligning production equipment, transferring mechanical points, locating shafts and bearing mounts, aligning belts and pulleys, and other industrial tasks.
A finely ruled target and magnetic base are easily moved around for checking alignments, allowing one person to perform the work of several. The kit includes a leveling base so the laser can measure flat planes and machined surfaces. A 90° laser prism is useful for squaring machinery and checking the parallelism of rails, tracks and guides. A growing line of targets, mounts and attachments expands the versatility of the laser and any task, however specialized. The laser and all of its attachments are stored in a durable carrying case for convenience and easy transport.
The alignment kit is an inexpensive tool that provides users with the accuracy they need to keep their equipment running smoothly, and its efficiency saves time and money. The laser and accessories are machined from solid aluminum with stainless steel parts and protected by a hard anodized coating for years of dependable use on the factory floor.
