BASILDON, England, Sept. 29, 2010 — Advanced Optical Technology Ltd. now offers special versions of its ACE solid-state short-pulse electro-optical Q-switched Nd:YVO4 lasers operating beyond 100 kHz, the maximum of the standard range. ACE products use proprietary laser technology to allow the efficient generation of high beam quality pulses in the ~ 500-ps to few nanosecond range.

The current models find use in a wide range of industrial, commercial, and scientific research and development applications, from high-precision micromachining, through aerial mapping to biochemistry. Active Q-switching allows the user to accurately synchronize the short TEMOO laser pulses to external events.

The company is now offering special ACE oscillators that can operate at pulse rates to 250 kHz. These new units provide pulses of 10-µJ energy with durations from 1 to 3 ns, depending upon repetition rate and user need. The lasers retain their high efficiency, beam quality and good pulse synchronization.

The significantly extended performance is expected to be of particular interest to current and new users who require higher throughput and/or faster data acquisition.
