SYLMAR, Calif., Jan. 12, 2011 — Laser Operations LLC has unveiled SUltra, a complete OEM turnkey solution for plastic welding and laser soldering, heat-treating, medical laser therapy, forensics and direct illumination.

The system, based on QPC Lasers' line of BrightLase and BrightLock fiber-coupled modules, is available at multiple wavelengths including 532, 980, 1064, 1470 and 1920 nm, with optical powers of up to 50 W, continuous-wave or pulsed.

The compact and portable OEM solution measures 15 × 16.2 × 45 cm and comprises a fiber-coupled or collimated laser module, a laser driver, a power supply, a thermal management system, controller electronics and an optional touch-screen interface and visible aiming beam in a single air-cooled package powered by a 100- to 240-VAC supply.

Laser output is delivered via an optical fiber with core size ranging from 50 to 80 µm and controlled through an RS-232 interface or a graphical user interface for fast and easy integration.

The system features high power stability, fast rise time, a safety interlock and optional power monitoring control with an integrated monitor photodiode.

Applications include forensics, particle counting, solar and LCD panel manufacturing, OEM medical equipment, laser pumping and materials processing.
