JAI Inc. has introduced two 2-megapixel industrial-grade CCD cameras featuring full high-definition TV resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 64 fps. The AM-201CL monochrome and AB-201CL color cameras feature quad-tap CCD sensors from Kodak. They leverage the high speed of the quad-tap architecture without compromising image quality, thanks to an advanced automatic channel balancing algorithm that continuously adjusts gain and offset of the individual channels to provide seamless results. They use the quad-tap architecture of the KAI-02150 CCD for rapid image acquisition, then combine the four taps into two for monochrome or raw Bayer readout at 64 fps. To simplify integration, the two taps are multiplexed via an 80-MHz data clock to deliver 8-, 10- or 12-bit output over a single-cable Camera Link base configuration.
