Teledyne Dalsa Inc., a Teledyne Technologies company, has unveiled the Piranha4 8-k/7-µm-resolution dual line-scan CMOS cameras. The P4-8k, the first in the series, combines advancements in the company’s CMOS imaging sensor technology with a good signal-to-noise ratio for high-speed imaging. With a 70-kHz maximum line rate using the Camera Link interface, it inspects and detects with high precision and good responsivity. The Piranha4 family is based on proprietary CMOS dual line-scan technology, with on-chip correlated double sampling and on-chip analog-to-digital conversion. It offers low read noise and high full well capacity for a better dynamic range for demanding applications. Other key features include a 100% fill factor, exposure control, 100x antiblooming and precise sensor alignment, which simplifies multiple camera calibration at the system level.
