Polarization Scrambler, 2-µm Fiber Couplers
Phoenix Photonics Ltd.Request Info
SOUTH CROYDON, England, Feb. 15, 2012 — With growing demand for products in the 2000-nm range, Phoenix Photonics Ltd. has extended the operational wavelength of its current selection of all-fiber-based components and introduced 2-μm fiber couplers available in 1 × 2, 2 × 2, tap and cascaded configurations. Proprietary in-house technology produces components built on single-mode fiber designed for operation in the 2000-nm wavelength band.
To optimize the performance of the fused couplers, the company has designed and built its own fusion rigs and developed the processing methods.
In addition to the new couplers, the company offers products in the conventional telecommunications wavelengths and in the 2000-nm range, including optical phase shifters; side-polished fibers; polarization scanners/controllers; polarization scramblers; multichannel polarization controllers; electronically driven polarization controllers with manual and PC options; and fiber depolarizers.
The polarization scrambler was brought to market to fulfill the requirements of existing customers. Providing low polarization mode dispersion and available in the 2000-nm range, the all-fiber device provides sine or random waveforms. Part of the Firebird range, the single-channel device uses technology similar to that of the company’s benchtop multichannel polarization controller.
