MILFORD, Mass., Aug. 22, 2012 — Process Sensors Corp. has added the two-piece model BBS1200 compact blackbody calibration source to its line of precision blackbody radiation sources for verification and calibration of noncontact infrared thermometers, thermal imaging detectors/cameras, focal plane array detectors and heat flux meters. It is suitable for use with collimators and at automated calibration test stations.

The rugged source operates in the 50 to 1200 °C range. Portable and lightweight, it offers a fast slew rate and high uniformity.

It features precision accuracy and stability, paired with a selection of eight standard apertures and emissivity of >0.99. Contained in separate housings, the calibration source and digital controller allow flexibility in positioning the instrument within an installation.
 
It has a large nonslip handle, measures 11.75 × 11.4 × 8 in. and weighs 17 lb, making it easy to maneuver and position. The digital self-tuning PID controller module measures 5.1 × 13.4 × 12 in. and weighs 9 lb.
