STAMFORD, Conn., Aug. 27, 2012 — Omega Engineering Inc.’s OS-VIR50 digital infrared video thermometer features dual lasers, which indicate the ideal measuring distance where the two laser points converge to a 25.4-mm target spot. It also offers a color LED bar graph for viewing trends, a 150-ms response time, a type-K thermocouple input, and a trigger lock function for continuous readings. It can measure temperatures up to 2200 °C. The housing is double-molded for durability. Adjustable emissivity increases measurement accuracy, and adjustable high/low set points have audible alarm alerts. It is suitable for industrial applications, heating/ventilation/and air conditioning, construction, and the oil, automotive and beverage industries. It measures air temperature and relative humidity, and features a USB interface and auto power-off. It makes noncontact (infrared) and contact (thermocouple) temperature measurements. The built-in camera offers still image and video capturing for documenting measurement locations. The meter includes a microSD card slot for offloading still images and video. The built-in laser pointer increases target accuracy, while the backlit LCD and handy push buttons combine for convenient, ergonomic operation.
