HAMDEN, Conn., Jan. 8, 2013 — Warner Instruments is offering Okolab’s T Plates, round heated plates with a built-in touch-screen interface temperature sensor. The flat-surface devices are compatible with any microscope, including inverted types.

They are suitable for use in short-term experiments and available in glass and metal versions.

The T Plate fits into microscope X-Y stages with circular openings and provides a transparent surface at a controlled temperature. The conductive glass has a temperature sensor and, when coupled with the proportional integral derivative temperature controller, provides accuracy of ±0.3 °C on specimen temperature.

The controller features an external temperature sensor for the self-calibration routine, two temperature channels and an optional zero footprint mount.

An instrument consisting essentially of a tube 160 mm long, with an objective lens at the distant end and an eyepiece at the near end. The objective forms a real aerial image of the object in the focal plane of the eyepiece where it is observed by the eye. The overall magnifying power is equal to the linear magnification of the objective multiplied by the magnifying power of the eyepiece.
