SANTA ROSA, Calif., Feb. 6, 2013 — Cal Sensors has launched microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) emitters with patented thin-membrane thermoresistive material.

The nanostructure carbon membranes operate over the 1- to 20-μm infrared spectrum. Delivering quasi-blackbody pulsed IR light, the emitters offer modulation frequencies up to 100 Hz and operate at 750 °C to maximize signal-to-noise performance for applications including medical, environmental and process control.

The emitters require minimal input power, making them well suited for portable applications.
