Active/TEC Cooled Diode Lasers

COCOA, Fla., May 9, 2013 — Visible Diode Laser Systems has released active- and TEC-cooled 520-nm, 50-mW semiconductor diode lasers for laboratory, green diode-pumped solid-state laser replacement, industry, light show and commercial use.

The compact devices consist of a single antireflection-coated element glass adjustable lens, and offer continuous or TTL/analog modulation to >1 MHz. Free from infrared leakage in 808 and 1064 nm, they provide a single-mode beam with divergence of 7 × 25, >2 mrad. Polarization is 20:1.

The OEM lasers include a power supply, cooling, color LCD temperature display, key switch and indicator lamps. All housings and electronics are thermally potted/attached with high-grade thermal gap material.

GLOSSARY
diode-pumped solid-state laser
A compact solid-state laser, referred to as DPSSL, created when a laser diode pumps light into either the sides or end of gain crystal. Depending on where the pumping occurs, high-quality and stable output beams can be achieved with end-pumped lasers, and high-power output beams can be realized as with side-pumped lasers. Common in green laser pointers, DPSSLs are also used for a variety of materials processing applications, such as cutting and precision marking, and in optogenetics.
