ITASCA, Ill., June 13, 2013 — Keyence Corp. has released the VHX-700F all-in-one microscope for advanced imaging, recording and measurement.

It incorporates observation, measurement and image recording capabilities into a single device while offering all of the imaging techniques found in traditional inspection equipment. It provides 0.1 to 5000× magnification and provides bright-field, dark-field and transmitted illumination as well as depth composition and 3-D display. Additional attachments offer polarized, diffused and differential interference contrast imaging methods. Users also can inspect the inside of small openings with a complete lineup of borescopes and fiberscopes.

The device uses the technology found in stereoscopic, metallurgical, measurement and scanning electron microscopes to capture images entirely in focus and at large depth of field. A variety of measurements can be made directly on the image. A multiangle stand is paired with a rotating stage to allow 360° views without sample manipulation, and the camera detaches for handheld, nondestructive imaging of larger parts.

A device for the internal inspection of hard-to-get-at mechanical parts, such as rifle barrels, sewer pipes, oil wells, or gas mains. The long narrow tube used contains a telescope system with as many relay lenses as necessary. A lamp located in front illuminates the inside of the bore, and the inclusion of a small 45° mirror often permits detailed examination of the tube wall. Some small borescopes and most types of medical endoscopes are now equipped with a fiber optic bundle, for image...
An optical instrument consisting of an objective lens, a coherent (usually flexible) fiber bundle and an eyepiece to examine the output of the fiber bundle.
