SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 11, 2013 — JAI Inc. has added the Spark SP-5000M-PMCL and Spark SP-5000C-PMCL 5-MP cameras to its Spark industrial series. Featuring a Mini Camera Link interface that can be configured to support various data rate requirements using base, medium or full configurations, the cameras deliver full resolution output at up to 134 fps for 8-bit monochrome or raw Bayer images, or 120 fps for 10-bit images; 12-bit output is supported at up to 61 fps. Driving the output is a 2560 × 2048-pixel CMOS imager developed by Anafocus (Lince5M250). The 5000C-PMCL color model offers on-chip 4-channel analog gain control to allow individual adjustment of R, G1, G2 and B information for better white balancing with reduced noise. The cameras’ auxiliary lens circuits support P-iris control as well as programmable 3-axis control of motorized zoom lenses or other analog accessories. Power also can be supplied through the Camera Link connectors using a dual-channel-powered frame grabber, or provided via the separate 12-pin connector. Applications include high-speed production line inspection, process monitoring and event capture.
