OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 2, 2015 — Pleora Technologies Inc. has announced the iPORT NTx-Gigabit Ethernet IP core package, including support for field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from Xilinx and Altera.
The machine vision platform increases flexibility and reduces costs for manufacturers by providing a straightforward design path to integrate their logic with the iPORT NTx-GigE IP Core in a custom FPGA load. Designers can then utilize a single FPGA to perform pixel correction, color space conversion and other specialized analysis tasks while incorporating GigE Vision functionality. Integrating multiple functions into a single FPGA results in electronics with reduced power consumption, heat generation, footprint and component costs.
The platform is compliant with the GigE Vision standard to ensure cameras and other imaging devices interoperate seamlessly in complex multivendor systems, while GenICam compliance helps reduce the costs of development by allowing the same software applications to be used for different types of cameras and imaging products.
