08-01 Series by CoboltCobolt AB, Swedish manufacturer of high performance lasers, introduces the 08-01 Series of ultra-compact, narrow linewidth lasers, ideal for high resolution Raman spectroscopy applications. The most robust, high performance, single longitudinal mode (SLM) DPSSL on the market, the Cobolt DPL™ 532 nm, has been complimented by the Cobolt NLD™ 785 nm frequency stabilized diode laser with up to 500mW and including an integrated isolator, as part of the 08-01 Series. In addition, the Cobolt DPL™ 532 nm is also now available with an integrated optical isolator for analysis of the toughest of highly reflective samples. The Cobolt DPL™ 532 nm has up to 160 mW after the optical isolator, is truly SLM with excellent spectral purity and wavelength stability. With totally integrated electronics, lasers from the 08-01 Series are easily integrated into high end Raman based systems or other analytical instrumentation.

All Cobolt lasers are manufactured using proprietary HTCure™ technology and the resulting compact hermetically sealed package provides a very high level of immunity to varying environmental conditions along with exceptional reliability. Lasers built using HTCure™ have been shown to withstand multiple 60G mechanical shocks in operation without any sign of degraded performance. With demonstrated lifetime capability of >60 000 hours and several thousand units installed in the field, Cobolt lasers have proven to deliver unmatched reliability and performance both in the lab and industrial environments, and are offered with market leading warranty terms.

Raman spectroscopy
That branch of spectroscopy concerned with Raman spectra and used to provide a means of studying pure rotational, pure vibrational and rotation-vibration energy changes in the ground level of molecules. Raman spectroscopy is dependent on the collision of incident light quanta with the molecule, inducing the molecule to undergo the change.
