PI has released two new motorized linear stage product families that provide high precision linear motion down to 1 nanometer resolution with minimized runout, ideally suited to mission critical success of industrial and scientific applications from photonics instrumentation to beamline systems.
The V-551 family features a high resolution linear scale and comes with travel ranges up to 230mm. High velocity to 500 mm/second comes from its ironless 3 phase motor direct drive. Excellent guiding accuracy is guaranteed by the precision crossed roller bearings and anti-creep cage assist. Two measuring systems are offered: an absolute-measuring scale with 1.7nm resolution and the PIone incremental encoder with sub-nm resolution.
The V-522 family of voice-coil driven linear motor stages, provides travel ranges of 5, 10, and 20mm. These stages are designed for scanning and positioning with high-dynamics. With no moving cables and no wear and tear of the drive unit, the V-522 positioning stages are ideal for high-duty cycle applications and achieve scanning frequencies of several 10Hz can be achieved, depending on load and scanning range.
Applications for PI’s newest linear stages include industry and research, such as optics inspection, metrology, photonics, medical engineering, biotechnology, laser beam control, and fiber optics.
