SALEM, N.H., Feb. 12, 2016 — ProPhotonix Ltd. has announced the Osram PL520B green laser diode, a 520-nm device with an output power of 80 mW.

Brilliant Beam Technology improves the far-field beam profile, enhancing image quality in projection applications. The performance is stable over a broad range of temperatures, making it well suited for applications in demanding environmental conditions. The diode is offered in a compact TO38 I-Cut package for miniaturizes applications. The threshold current is reduced to 40 mA for energy efficiency.

The laser is designed for projection, holography, metrology and biomedical applications.
