FLS980 Spectrometer

Edinburgh Instruments Ltd.Request Info

Edinburgh Instruments' FLS980 SpectrometerThe FLS980 is a research grade, florescence spectrometer with high spectral resolution and excellent stray light rejection. Modular construction allows the FLS980 to be configured according to your research needs with fluorescence (via TCSPC), a range of operating wavelengths from the UV to NIR and a host of other options including:

   •  Modular design – enables flexibility, customisation for measurement needs and ease of future upgrades

   •  Unrivalled spectral coverage from the deep UV to the mid-IR range up to 5500 nm – allows the widest possible range of samples to be measured

   •  Highest Sensitivity (>25,000:1) – Industry leading sensitivity, allows detection of very weak fluorescence signals

   •  High performance triple grating monochromators with integrated filter wheels – high stray-light rejection allows more accurate results for highly scattering or weakly emitting samples

GLOSSARY
spectrometer
A kind of spectrograph in which some form of detector, other than a photographic film, is used to measure the distribution of radiation in a particular wavelength region.
fluorescence
The emission of light or other electromagnetic radiation of longer wavelengths by a substance as a result of the absorption of some other radiation of shorter wavelengths, provided the emission continues only as long as the stimulus producing it is maintained. In other words, fluorescence is the luminescence that persists for less than about 10-8 s after excitation.
