Applied Scintillation Technologies has unveiled the Camir1550, a compact, IR camera sensitive in the 1550-nm region. Offering real-time imaging without lag or delay, the device is a combination of CCD and phosphor attributes. It has sensitivity as low as 0.2 µJ/cm2 with peaked spectral response at 1512 and 1540 nm. Its built-in charger circuit is suitable for use with any 12-VDC supply. When fitted with the optional handheld display, the unit is portable and runs for 4 h on a single battery charge. The camera is available in either PAL/ CCIR or NTSC/EIA formats.
