Hamamatsu CorporationRequest Info
BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Nov. 8, 2011 — An ultracompact short-wavelength near-infrared (SWNIR) miniature spectrometer has been unveiled by Hamamatsu Corp.
The C11708MA measures 27.6 × 13 × 16.8 mm and is easily mounted on a circuit board, enabling its use as a sensor in portable measurement equipment.
Constructed using proprietary advanced microelectromechanical systems and optical technologies, the spectrometer features a CMOS linear image sensor integrated with an entrance slit, as well as a grating formed on a convex lens by nanoimprinting. The CMOS image sensor has 256 pixels, each measuring 12.5 × 1000 µm, and its spectral sensitivity ranges from 640 to 1050 nm. Its high SWNIR sensitivity is suitable for analyzing food contents and other materials. Other features include a spectral resolution of 20 nm.
The C11351 evaluation circuit board is available (sold separately) for easily evaluating the characteristics of the spectrometer. This circuit board is powered via a USB 2.0 connection. It offers 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion and allows integration times from 5 ms to 10 s.
