IMIC MICROSCOPE
FEI Munich GmbHRequest Info
The iMIC microscope is an optomechanical platform for extending a computer into the world of imaging. Designed by Till Photonics GmbH of Gräfelfing, Germany, the instrument provides a modular, scalable and extendable optical bench system that can be configured optimally for all modern microscope techniques.
It combines the means for placing a sample in front of an objective, for illuminating the sample and for bringing the image/beams to a detector.
In a fully scaled-up version, the iMIC supports such techniques as confocal and multiphoton laser scanning; real-time ratio, 3-D live-cell and multispectral imaging; total internal fluorescence; fluorescence lifetime imaging; and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy. It supports these techniques without compromise and allows switching between them in an automated, computer-controlled fashion.
In an iMIC, the manner in which a sample is kept and moved is an integral part of the microscope, making an environmental chamber a simple extension of the platform, and practically eliminating the risk of spilling fluids inside the microscope.
The instrument is suitable as a universal platform for high-end microscopy and as an industry platform for high-throughput, high-content screening, as well as for medical diagnostics such as cytogenetics and histopathology.
