For use in small machine tooling shops and inspection rooms
MELVILLE, N.Y., May 6, 2009 – Combining precision and accuracy with a compact body and an affordable price, Nikon Instruments Inc.’s MM-200 noncontact measuring microscope performs geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and measures a variety of metal, plastic and electronic parts.
It features a space-saving footprint of 420 × 297 mm and weighs 40 kg. Designed with a built-in 2 × 2-in. O3L type digital stage with a rotating table and digital backpack for ease of use, the microscope can be used with the SC2 digital readout, which attaches directly to the arm.
The microscope is suitable for use in small machine tooling shops and inspection rooms, and in automotive and electronics applications.
The focusing motion control mechanics are designed to optimize the frequently used objective lenses from 1× to 10×, and the gear ratio has been matched to render focusing faster. The microscope also features a built-on digital measuring stage that requires no installation. The stage maintains traveling accuracy, achieving the same 0.0001-µm readout provided by the company’s MM400/800 series devices.
The built-in episcopic and diascopic light sources are long-life high-intensity white light LEDs. With no expensive bulbs to change, downtime is eliminated and operating cost is minimized. The optional eight-segment LED ringlights produce clear and enhanced edge contrast.
The dedicated C-mount video head allows easy connection with E-MAX data processing software, enabling advanced measurement and image processing functions, including automated edge detection. In combination with the company's DS-2Mv digital still camera, the software provides state-of-the-art image processing technology and advanced measurements and processing functions, ranging from two-dimensional data processing and image measurements to data storage.
Magnification accuracy is 0.1%, maximum loading weight is 2 kg for guaranteed accuracy and 5 kg for operation, and input voltage range is from 100 to 240 V.
