Anritsu Co. has launched optical sensors that can measure optical amplification devices used in long-haul DWDM networks, including erbium-doped-fiber and Raman amplifiers. The sensors can evaluate optical amplifiers with >27 dBm and measure pump laser power up to 35 dBm. Designed for use with the company's MT9810A optical test set, they have a wavelength range of 940 to 1640 nm for conducting measurements in the C-, L- and S-bands. The MA9331A remote sensor offers an accuracy of ±4% at 30 dBm, linearity of ±0.05 dB and polarization-dependent loss of <0.05 dB. The MU931431A has a maximum optical input of 33 dBm and an accuracy of ±5% at 30 dBm.
