OptiPro Nonlinear Optimization Module for Tracepro
Lambda Research Corp.Request Info
Lambda Research Corp., a developer of optical software TracePro, TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks and OSLO, has released OptiPro, a nonlinear optimization module for its illumination design software TracePro.
Optimizing an illumination system requires a way to automatically vary model parameters to achieve specific illumination distributions, and the OptiPro module enables such an optimization process in TracePro. The module, developed by IB/E Optics of Hutthurm, Germany, is based on TracePro’s Scheme macro language and offers users the flexibility to modify analysis functions and to define custom merit functions to create user-defined irradiation distributions for illumination designs in TracePro.
Lambda Research said the main goal in the development of the module was to maintain optimization versatility, since the design of illumination systems can be based on a variety of diverse requirements.
"Typically, the most important illumination design requirements are maximizing intensity and/or uniformity of light distribution," the company said. "We can compare the performance of the system when optimized on light-intensity only, and when optimized on both light intensity and uniformity. The latter approach yields maximized uniformity of light distribution with a slight loss in light intensity.
