Intel Launches Stand-alone FPGA Firm Altera
SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 6, 2024 — Intel has launched Altera, a standalone field programmable gate array company. Sandra Rivera, Intel’s executive vice president and CEO of its Programmable Solutions Group, serves as Altera’s CEO. Intel unveiled the company during a webcast, revealing a strategy to expand the company’s portfolio of AI-equipped FPGAs to secure market leadership, Intel said in a press release. Altera has launched with three FPGA product lines, one of which, Agilex 5, is widely available.
