Surface-Emitting Laser
GLASGOW, Scotland., March 31, 2023 — An uncooled continuous wave photonic crystal surface-emitting laser (PCSEL) from Vector Photonics is targeted for the interconnects, silicon photonics, and co-packaged optics used in datacenter applications. The uncooled, 1 W, 1310 nm semiconductor laser’s optical power increases over incumbent distributed feedback technology. The laser additionally has a symmetrical far-field which requires less operational power to achieve the necessary performance.
