x-ray microscope News
New X-ray Scope Reveals 3-D Nanostructures
UPTON, N.Y., April 23, 2012 — A new full field transmission x-ray microscope now makes it possible to rapidly capture and integrate thousands of two-dimensional images to create digital three-dimensional constructs with high accuracy. The direct observation of structures spanning 25 nm will offer fundamental advances in the fields of energy research, biology, national defense and environmental sciences.
Lensless X-ray Microscope Images Nanoscale Detail
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 12, 2011 — A new x-ray microscope that computes images using an algorithm rather than a lens is allowing scientists to see minute details at the nanoscale. The algorithm can convert the diffraction patterns of x-rays bouncing off an object, yielding images...
1st Atomic-scale QD Map Made
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 29, 2009 – The first atomic-scale maps of quantum dots was created by a team of physicists at the University of Michigan, who say it is a major step toward producing “designer dots” that can be tailored for specific applications.
Plans Developed for Lensless 'Ultimate Microscope'
SHEFFIELD, England, March 14, 2007 -- Scientists have developed an innovative way to take images of atoms in living cells without using a lens. They now plan to use the technique to develop the ultimate x-ray microscope, which could be used to take high-resolution 3-D images of any...
Jmar Appoints X-ray Advisory Board
Jan 21, 2005 — SAN DIEGO, Jan. 21 -- Jmar Technologies Inc. has established a scientific advisory board to provide guidance on the design, development and application of its compact soft x-ray microscope (XRM) for 2-D and 3-D visualization of single cells and...
Jmar to Develop X-Ray Microscope
Jun 29, 2004 — SAN DIEGO, June 29 -- Jmar Technologies Inc. announced it is developing an x-ray microscope (XRM) product line based on the company's existing collimated plasma lithography (CPL) x-ray source technology. The new product will enable 3-D visualization...
Grants Will Expand X-Ray Microscope Research
Mar 31, 2004 — BERKELEY, Calif., March 31 -- Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) have been awarded $2.5 million from the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Energy to...
