Nikon Instruments Inc.

!%Nikon Instruments Inc.%! of Melville, N.Y., and !%421%%Agilent Technologies%! of Santa Clara, Calif., have announced an agreement for distribution in the Americas of Agilent’s MLC400 monolithic laser combiner systems. They will be integrated into laser systems designed for Nikon’s Ti-E PFS “Perfect Focus,” an inverted research microscope that performs multiday live-cell imaging experiments. The integration will allow researchers to maximize productivity and minimize system downtime. Agilent’s monolithic laser combiner will achieve high optical efficiency on the microscopes by eliminating the need for multiple mechanical mounts on fixtures, as well as the number of exposed optical faces and air gaps. The company will begin integrating the MLC400/Ti-E imaging systems for total internal reflection fluorescence, photobleaching/ photoactivation, and field scanning confocal systems.
