Omega Optical Holdings Acquires Two Companies

BRATTLEBORO, Vt., Dec. 20, 2021 — Precision optics company Omega Optical Holdings has acquired Evaporated Metal Films Corp. (EMF) and Optometrics Corp. Omega has completed the acquisition from Dynasil Corp. of America.     thin film
    A thin layer of a substance deposited on an insulating base in a vacuum by a microelectronic process. Thin films are most commonly used for antireflection, achromatic beamsplitters, color filters, narrow passband filters, semitransparent mirrors, heat control filters, high reflectivity mirrors, polarizers and reflection filters.
    diffractive optics
    Optical elements that use diffraction to control wavefronts. Diffractive optical elements include diffraction gratings, surface-relief diffractive lenses, holographic optical elements and computer-generated holograms. Fabrication methods include diamond machining, interference of coherent beams (holography), injection molding and advanced microlithographic techniques.
