Robert Edmund, CEO and chairman of the board of Edmund Optics, was recently elected to the position of SPIE senior member, the company announced Wednesday. SPIE honors senior members for their professional experience, their active involvement with SPIE and the optics community, and for significant performance that sets them apart from their peers. As an active member of SPIE since 1999, Edmund currently serves on the organization’s financial advisory committee and has spoken at several of its events. He also serves on two university boards and is a former board member of the Direct Marketing Association. Since the senior member distinction was initiated, 212 SPIE members have received this promotion.
