ML610M 2/3” 4K Varifocal Covers 3 Primes

Theia’s ML610M offers the versatility of a varifocal lens without sacrificing the high resolution performance needed in machine vision applications. The ML610M lens furnishes a 6-10mm focal range providing 51 to 87 degrees horizontal field of view on the 2/3" sensor. The lens covers focal lengths of up to 3 prime lenses - a 6mm, 8mm and 10mm, with the flexibility to dial in the focal length and field of view as needed for the specific application. The ML610M lens is designed with multiple aspherical elements to supply 12 megapixel, 300lp/mm resolution performance and is IR corrected for 440nm to 940nm, maintaining focus in NIR with only a 5 micron focus shift.

Theia's ML610M C mount lens is compact and lightweight, weighing in at 69 grams with a 59mm maximum envelope and a 51.5mm lens length. Its compact size allows the lens to fit in tight envelopes and the light weight provides greater mobility and stability while still enabling it to withstand vibration from 20-200Hz at 10G/axis. The manual iris lens has great light gathering ability at F/1.7 with very few ghosts or aberrations.

Theia employs multi-layer coatings and Extra Low Dispersion (ELD) glass types to result in over 57% transmission. Potential applications in the machine vision industry are broad thanks to the varifocal flexibility allowing for changes of field of view and/or changes in imaging distance as needed for the specific application, facilitating a modular, multi-product inspection line, for example. The high resolution performance facilitates improved detection and accuracy of inspection of flaws from greater distances, or inspection/identification of smaller objects.
