Clear All Filters xradiant flux x
radiant flux -> radiant power
The time rate of flow of radiant energy, expressed in watts (W), and carries the units of Joule per second (J/s). The prefix often is dropped and the term "power" used.
radiant flux density -> irradiance
Radiant flux incident per unit area of a surface. Also called radiant flux density.
cosine collector
Translucent collector developed to compensate for the partial blocking of a flat surface's collection angle that normally occurs in spectroradiometry. The device samples radiant flux according to the...
exposure
In optics, the total radiant energy incident on a surface-per-unit area. It is equal to the integral over time of the radiant flux density. Also known as radiant exposure.
infrared-emitting diode
A semiconductor device with a semiconductor junction in which infrared radiant flux is nonthermally produced when a current flows as a result of applied voltage.
integral density
With respect to color photography, the measurement of the way the color film modulates the radiant flux in the optical system containing the film.
irradiance
Radiant flux incident per unit area of a surface. Also called radiant flux density.
light source efficiency -> luminous efficacy
Quotient of total luminous flux divided by total radiant flux; lumens per watt. (For a source, quotient of total luminous flux divided by lamp power input.)
luminous efficacy
Quotient of total luminous flux divided by total radiant flux; lumens per watt. (For a source, quotient of total luminous flux divided by lamp power input.)
luminous efficiency
Ratio of radiant flux weighted according to V(l), the spectral luminous efficiency, to the corresponding radiant flux.
optical testing instrument
An optical testing instrument is a device or system used to evaluate and measure the performance, quality, and characteristics of optical components, systems, and devices. These instruments play a...
radiant efficiency
The ratio of the radiant flux emitted by a source to the power supplied.
radiant exitance
The radiant flux per unit area emitted from a surface.
radiant exposure -> exposure
In optics, the total radiant energy incident on a surface-per-unit area. It is equal to the integral over time of the radiant flux density. Also known as radiant exposure.
residual absorption and scattering
Loss mechanisms that degrade the performance of all thin-film optical devices by removing radiant flux out of the specular beams.
spectral integral density
With respect to color photography, the measurement, at a given wavelength, of the way the color film modulates the radiant flux in the optical system containing the film.
spectral luminous efficacy
Ratio of the luminous flux in a beam of radiation to the spectral radiant flux in the same beam at a given wavelength.
spectral luminous efficiency
Ratio of the radiant flux at a particular wavelength lm to that at any other wavelength l, such that both radiations produce equally intense luminous sensations. The wavelength lm is chosen so that...
