RFID Laser Cutting Sensor
TRUMPF Inc.Request Info
Trumpf Inc. has enhanced its LensLine sensor system for 2-D laser cutting machines by combining it with a radio-frequency identification (RFID) lens for condition monitoring. The RFID lens is now a standard feature on all Trumpf TruLaser 3000 machines with a CO2 laser.
When high-power lasers cut sheet metal, dirt particles accumulate on the focusing lens in the laser cutting head, requiring the machine operator to check, clean or replace the lens. The new condition-monitoring system does this more quickly and accurately. The RFID chip attached to the lens records data such as when the lens was last cleaned. The monitoring can be done automatically at predefined intervals.
The technology ensures that only lenses with the correct focal length are installed in the machine, and in the correct orientation. If particles accumulate beyond a certain concentration, the laser is automatically switched off within a few milliseconds.
