Request InfoNexans Inc.NEW HOLLAND, Pa., June 3, 2010 — Berk-Tek, a Nexans company, has announced the availability of a high-density distribution fiber optic cable, designated ACP (Aramid Connect Plenum), for trunk applications. It was developed to provide a small cable diameter suitable for termination with MPO connectors. The cable has a 3-mm diameter and contains up to 12 color-coded fibers. Each fiber has a nominal 250-µm coating. The cable also carries an optical fiber nonconductive plenum listing. It provides a compact, flexible structure for use where space is limited. With no preferential bend, the round design provides a...See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra October 2020 IssueFiber Pistol GripsSpectral Evolution Inc. now offers two pistol grip models for use with field portable spectroradiometers. These articles will provide the tools optics designers need to tailor their designs to the appropriate manufacturing process and to optimize the cost of component fabrication.Aspheric surfaces are powerful tools that combine the optical corrections of multiple lenses into a single element (Figure 1) and affect performance in ways that spherical optics cannot. For example,...Photonics HandbookAcousto-Optic Devices: Charts showing the characteristics of acousto-optic scanning devices, acousto-optic figures of merit, and solutions for common problems with acousto-optic processor devices.ACOUSTO-OPTIC SCANNING DEVICES: CHARACTERISTICS MODULATORS Material Bandwidth (MHz) Rise Time (ns) Acousto Input Power (W) (Saturation) Material Wavelength Range...Photonics HandbookOptical Delay Lines: Key to Time-Resolved Measurements: To obtain an accurate means of creating reliable delays in any time-resolved spectroscopy or dynamic experiment, several factors about the delay line stage must be considered to reduce or eliminate errors associated with linear stages. One of the most critical elements of any time-resolved spectroscopy and dynamics experiment is the optical delay line. A typical optical delay line consists of a retroreflector or folding mirrors on...Photonics HandbookFlat Optics: Considerations When Buying: To simplify the process when purchasing flat optics, we will discuss the top six factors from a manufacturer’s perspective, all of which affect the three major areas of the purchasing decision: quality, delivery and cost.Flat optics generally perform three main functions: They transmit light (windows), reflect light (mirrors) and fold light (prisms). While most optical manufacturers make spherical and flat optics, a...WHITEPAPERSPhotonics.com 2/25/2020Hybrid Gain Flattening Filters in Optical Fiber AmplifiersIridian Spectral Technologies has developed what is referred to as a Hybrid GFF, which combines the functionality of both a WDM and the GFF on one component.
