Xanadu Brings Quantum Advantage to the People
TORONTO, June 3, 2022 — Quantum technology company Xanadu demonstrated quantum computational advantage using its Borealis photonic quantum computer. Borealis features 216 squeezed-state qubits, and it was demonstrated to outperform classical supercomputers in the performance of a specific task. Xanadu has made the computer and its capabilities available to the public through Xanadu Cloud, the company’s photonic quantum computing platform, as well as through Amazon Bracket. According to the company,
White Light Interferometry for Highly Accurate Thickness Measurements
Aug 1, 2018 — White light interferometry (WLI) is a common system of measurement with a long history and a variety of applications, which currently include surface profiling1, medical imaging, and — as in the past — thickness measurement. Also known as coherence...
Conquering the Silicon Photonics Production Bottleneck
Jun 26, 2017 — The first computer link using optical fibers was commissioned four decades ago to safeguard communications at the Cheyenne Mountain strategic command center1. We have since seen broad adoption of photonic communications in an unfolding trend of...
Ensuring Accurate Quantitative Image Analysis
Jul 18, 2016 — Quality control in materials inspection requires the ability to detect and quantify both minute surface imperfections, and those beneath the surface. Inspection is often conducted with digital imaging microscopy setups; however, such images are...
Profiling Gets You the Right Beam, Every Time
Jul 1, 2011 — Whether the application is industrial, medical, military or scientific, diagnosing a problem in your optical system can be confusing, time-consuming and costly. Beam profiling can help. There can be few frustrations greater than finding that your...
